Forgotten Music: EstrelA

Nothing sounds like this. This 11 minute EP helped define an entire music scene in a small southern town, inspiring artists and musicians for years to come. Bands that opened for these folks went on to major label releases and world tours, shining a new light on this small corner of the Deep South with a very singular reputation. Despite this, these three songs and circulation thereof only existed for a 6 month period in the hands of a bunch of underage kids.

I saw this band play in a weird little speak easy "venue" with zero flare, playing just these three songs over a trash PA. The shoulder to shoulder crowd was stuck in that moment, knew every lyric and time shift, yet somehow knew all of this was sand slowly slipping through their fingers.

Heres to holding onto a grain or two for old times sake.
